Littlest Pet Shop Ladybug: 2nd Edition 

If you had a hard time getting your hands one of the original Littlest Pet Shop Ladybugs like me, you might be in luck because Hasbro has graced us ladybug lovers with a second edition.

If you aren't familiar with the Littlest Pet Shop and their ladybug, I have more detailed information in my article called Littlest Pet Shop Ladybug available here.

The second LPS Ladybug, as of writing this information, is just a little bit different but equally as cute and even on initial release a challenge to find. Folks are driving the prices up a bit on Ebay for the second release and in stores the number that they issue is significantly less in proportion to the other figures in this set.

As you will observe in the pictures below, there are some distinct differences between the Littlest pet shop ladybugs thats have been released and some striking similarities. On the original LPS ladybug the eyes are two shades of green and looking up along with the head tilted slightly upward. In addition the body and legs are entirely black with the exception of the toes. The 2nd edition LPS ladybug has a very similar face to her predessesor and hold her feet in the same pose. This ladybug has darker red on her head and body and only black on the spots and legs. The head is tilted more level and the eyes which are blue green are looking off to the side. The reflections in the ladybugs eyes are also somewhat flower shaped which is often seen in newer littlest pet shop figures. Ofcourse most significant of note is the size of the ladybug. The original ladybug was much smaller than the common size of your standard littlest pet shop pet. This second edition you will find is in the general size range of the standard pets.

         

I went into multiple stores a number of different times after they had already been released before I was lucky enough to get my hands on a 2nd edition ladybug. Hooray!
