Littlest Pet Shop Ladybug

If you love ladybugs like we do in our house you should definitely check out the Littlest Pet Shop version of the ladybug.

Littlest Pet Shop toys are a continuing line by Hasbro of small, cute, little caricatured animals and play sets. My daughter started collecting these adorable little toys when she was a toddler. This was partly due to the fact that I thought they were so cute and also because she enjoyed collecting and playing with small toys and was good about not putting them in her mouth.

Soon after her collection started to grow the ladybug lover in me wanted to see if a Littlest Pet Shop ladybug existed. Low and behold, Hasbro had released one. Much like the rest of the collection though, they only releases them in limited production lines.

I quickly came to find that the LPS Ladybug was a highly sought after treasure. A standard pack of LPS figures and little accessories seems to range between $4-6. At peak demand times I've seen this Ladybug on Ebay, buy it now for $70 plus. Don't get me wrong, I love ladybugs, collecting really cool ladybug products, and getting ladybug toys and gifts for my daughters, but even I have a hard time justifying that kind of money for this loveable 2 inch toy. As demand has died down I have seen this individual toy go for anywhere from $4 to $10.

Every now and then people list valuable items on sites such as ebay for really cheap! And if you keep your eyes peeled for the ladybug or look in auctions where people are sometimes selling a "lot" of LPS figures. You may manage to get your self one for a very reasonable price. Sometimes these auctions won't even list the ladybug in the auction (you'll have to check the pictures & confirm by asking the seller questions).

We were able to aquire one of these adorable little ladybugs in our household when we purchase a "lot" for our children. The lot came with 43 little different pet shop figures with tons of accessories included. When I did the math after paying shipping it came out to being about $1.20 a figure which is considerably cheaper than the store plus getting a highly coveted ladybug figure.
